Through CBOs local communities are organised to address their common needs.

CBOs serve as platforms for inculcating democratic values as communities learn and practice how to elect and hold their leaders accountable.

CBOs serve as vehicles for mobilising and attracting investment to rural communal areas for job creation.

CBOs identify common issues and come together to address common threats and explore opportunities.

CBOs enable local communities to develop rules (by – laws, constitutions, etc.)

CBOs provide platforms for building local leaders.

CBOs creates platforms for local participatory planning.
